Skye
Many people want to spend at least one day visiting the main tourist attractions on Skye, which are all within an hour’s drive of Isle Ornsay: the capital town of Portree, The Old Mann of Storr (film set for the land of giants in the BFG), Kilt Rock, Talisker Distillery, The Fairy Pools, and Dunvegan Castle among many others. Located in the south of Skye, at Eilean Sionnach Lighthouse Cottage you’re not only close to the main tourist attractions on Skye, you’re also well-positioned to pop over to Mallaig to ride the famous Harry Potter train, visit the Glenfinnan Viaduct, the white sandy beaches of Morar or take a trip out to the small isles of Rhum, Eigg and Muck.
Also within easy reach of the Lighthouse Cottage are the Skye Bridge, Eilean Donan Castle, Plockton and Loch Carron. While you too may want to see main tourist attractions on Skye, we also recommend you explore the Sleat peninsula for a more unique and off the beaten track Skye experience. We’ll share these with you when you book the lighthouse cottage.
