Your self-catering holiday on Skye begins as you depart from the picturesque Isle Ornsay Pier and arrive at your unique holiday cottage via a short boat ride. Tides dictate the day here and we’ll be in touch with you before you stay to arrange your journey to the island. You may want to grab a pint or a bite to eat at the Eilean Iairmain Hotel in Isle Ornsay. That’s where you’ll meet our boat skipper and get kitted out in waterproofs and life jackets ready for your adventure to begin. If you depart during high tide, the boat trip takes just 10 minutes. Sit back, enjoy the views and feel the stresses and strains of daily life slowly fading away…
Every room in the lighthouse cottage is stylishly decorated and every bedroom has a deluxe ensuite bathroom. A characterful living room and dining room are where you can relax and eat when you’re ready to come in from the great outdoors. The spacious lounge offers plenty of room for up to eight people to relax and unwind. Whether you read a book by the wood burning stove, search for wildlife through one of many windows looking across the Sound of Sleat or play a board game with the children, we hope you’ll enjoy the peace and tranquillity of your own private hideaway on Skye.
The kitchen at the lighthouse cottage is fully equipped with luxury modern conveniences which include a SMEG range cooker, microwave and American style fridge. Your cooking and eating experience at this holiday cottage will be a far cry from the hardships endured by the lighthouse keepers of days gone by. The atmospheric dining room is where all your party can gather together to dine in style. Just around the bay a traditional Highland pub awaits when you’re ready to reconnect with the outside world, or feel like dining out.
All four luxury bedrooms at Eilean Sionnach Lighthouse Cottage are ensuite and have been tastefully decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings. The memory foam mattresses and sumptuous bedding are comforting to sink into after a long day in the fresh air. The master bedroom is spacious and tranquil and in the master bathroom you can enjoy endless ocean views as you unwind in the roll top bath – perhaps with a glass of something bubbly or a good book in hand? Three of the rooms have king sized beds and the fourth room works best as a single for adults or a pull out double sleeping two children.
Use our secluded holiday cottage on Skye as if it were your own home. Enjoy spectacular sea views and views of the Isle of Skye from every window or from the lookout point behind the house. Indoors a wood burning stove, superfast broadband and luxury appliances meet modern day expectations of holiday accommodation even in this remote place.
